Sanitation department launches ‘Black Bag Campaign’

Kapra: To reduce the usage of plastic, staff of sanitation department launched ‘Black Bag Campaign’ on Thursday.

They created awareness to Kapra residents on plastic usage and recycling. The staff also explained the importance of black bags in garbage collection.

The team spoke to several passerby about the ill-effects of plastic and advised them to use jute bags. An official said, “In the past people would use one jute bag for all their purchases, including vegetables. People now use plastic covers for every purchase.”

The officers called to use Jute bags instead of plastic. Kapra circle medical officer Maitrayee, sanitary inspector Dhana Goud, Jawans, sanitation field assistants(SFAs) and workers took part.
