Errakunta Lake cleaning begins

Shaikpet: First phase of cleaning at Errakunta Lake was held by Babul Films NGO on Sunday at Shaikpet. About 500 kg of plastic and residual waste was clogged in the lake harming the lake ecosystem.

Cleaning works were supervised by BJP sports cell convener Kandi Mohan Reddy and volunteers from Druvansh and Hyderabad Kites NGOs also participated. Greater Hyderabad Municipal corporation (GHMC) staff gave guidance in cleaning procedure. Reddy suggested locals to get involved with in such lake cleaning projects. 

said Babul NGO president Gangadhar Panday averred “Beat Plastic pollution” and explained the importance of lake cleaning and asked community members to gather for the Word Environment Day on Tuesday. Apart from this he also mentioned about the Eco Film Fest which was being conducted on Tuesday at Oasis High School Shaikpet, from 9 am to 6 pm.
