Lingojiguda: On Sunday the residents of Durga Basti of Sai Nagar Colony had a lot to cheer about. The much-awaited drinking water supply under Mission Bhagiratha scheme reached their doorsteps. The scheme was launched by corporator Mudraboina Srinivasa Rao.

“We were waiting for water supply for years and this is a very happy occasion and what makes it even more special is that it has come in the holy month of Ramzan” said Ali, a resident. Soon after launching the drinking water supply, the corporator urged the residents on proper usage of water. He said, “There were instances when people misused water in other colonies. When there is no supply of water people save every drop but when the supply begins they do not use it judiciously.”

Basti residents Fareeda Begum, Zubeda Begum, Water Board manager Raju, ward member Malkajgiri Kumar, area committee members Parswapu Sridhar, Nageswara Rao, Indraja, Susila, K Kumar, local leaders Narasimha Gupta, N Srinivas, Satyanarayana Goud and Sravan Kumar were present.
