Govt lands disappearing right under nose of dept officials

Dundigal: Government lands are disappearing right under the nose of the Revenue department officials.  Six months back a review meeting under the leadership of Qutbullapur MLA K P Vivekanand and attended by MROs of three mandals had resolved to recover occupied government lands. Even the district Collector’s orders on this have been ignored. 

This is giving scope for doubts with regard to the attitude of the Revenue staff. Even though unauthorised constructions have been taking place in survey no 821 on Barampet village outskirts since eight month the department staff has been looking the other way despite being informed several times. All that the staff has done is to put up a board, without taking up any demolition. The fact that the unauthorised constructions have been going on in phases shows that the builders are enjoying the support of the Revenue departments, wonder residents of Barampet. 

Speaking to The Hans India, they question as to why the department failed to take up demolition there, whereas in the case of survey no 214 members of families were pulled out before bringing down the structure. They openly say that the Revenue staff failed to act in Barampet for monetary considerations.

When THI wanted to seek a clarification from Gandimaisamma MRO Mallayya and Inspector Renuka they did not respond. However, when asked Ramesh, VRO, stated that they were busy and that the illegal constructions would be pulled down on Saturday. He failed to reply why demolition was not done during the last eight months.
