Union Minister inaugurates Jan Aushadhi Kendra

Kapra: Union Minister L Mandaviya along with Uppal legislator NVSS Prabhakar inaugurated Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra here on Thursday. The minister claimed that the Central government has established Jan Aushadhi Kendras to provide medicines at cheaper rates.

He called upon the people to utilise them. Jan Aushadi Kendras offer same medicines with generic names whose retail price is at cheaper price. The MNCs sell medicines with brand names at higher cost, however the same medicines are manufactured by other companies with same ingredients and sell at a very low MRP. Due to the nexus between pharmacy companies, chemists and doctors, the patients are always given prescription of medicines with high MRPs. The medical shops like Jan Aushadi Kendras offer generic medicines at 30 – 80 per cent lower price helping the patients save monies.
