The Telangana State government is all set to bring Hyderabad under a man-made green cover with its revolutionary Haritha Haram programme. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s pet initiative, Haritha Haram, was launched two years ago in 2016-17.

Even though the 85 lakh saplings planted in 2016-17 and 76 lakh planted in 2017-18, are in budding stage, the government is giving a full thrust to the green revolution by deciding to plant 40 lakh more saplings in the 2018-2019 fiscal. With 93 per cent survival rate achieved last year the city will have more oxygen and eco-friendly ambience for its inhabitants.
