Muslim youth of TRS, CPI join Congress

Khammam: As many as 100 members of youth belonging to Muslim community from the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and Communist Party of India (CPI) joined the Congress party here in Khammam on Thursday.

District president of the Congress party Aitham Satyam welcomed the youth leaders into the party fold. Speaking on the occasion, Satyam said under the leadership of newly-elected All India Congress Committee president Rahul Gandhi, the party was going to get back the lost glory.

“Congress party always strived for the uplift of people belonging minority communities. The newly-joined Muslim youth must also strive to take the party to the doorsteps of all Muslims and must play a key role in strengthening the party in all divisions,” he urged.

He appreciated the efforts of Chota Baba, district Congress leader who inspired the Muslim youth of TRS and CPI to join the Congress. Shaik Khutbuddin, Aaseer Siddiqui, Afroz, Pasha, Yakub, Riyaz, Shareef, Nayeem, Rafi Pasha and Nizam were some of the youth leaders of TRS and CPI who joined the Congress on the day.
