Orphan kids tortured
Hanamkonda: In what is termed as a disheartening incident, the children taking shelter in a State-run urban street children hostel, were reportedly subjected to inhumane treatment by one of their tutors and the watchman.
The leaders of several student unions including AISF, PDSU and ABSF, who came to know about the matter, staged a flash protest before the hostel, demanding the suspension of tutor Raju and watchman Jawaharlal, who have been mistreating the inmates for some time. They also demanded the authorities to book a case against the tutor and watchman.
It’s learnt that the duo had even got a student tonsured. The students alleged that they are being tortured by the duo. They even demonstrated how they were tortured. The police, who swung into action, pacified the student unions, assuring them of investigating the issue.
Speaking to The Hans India, DSU Warangal District President Durgam Saraiah demanded the government to take stringent action against the tutor and watchman.
Student leaders K Naresh Dravid, Hakim Naveed, Shiva and Manda Naresh accused the authorities and the warden for not reacting to the incident.
