CPM urges UN to stop civil war in Syria

Khammam: The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), Pothineni Sudharshan Rao demanded that the United Nations take initiative to stop the civil war in Syria.

The representatives of the CPI-M party under the leadership of T Lingaiah took out a procession from the party office and burnt an effigy here on Thursday in protest against the civil war in Syria.

 Speaking at the CPI-M party State leader P Sudharshan Rao said entire the Syria, especially the Eastern Ghouta, was turned into a graveyard over the past two weeks.

The citizens for peace condemned the American actions in Syria. The America was acting cruelly, he said. 

The Indian government also should condemn the actions and exert pressure on the United Nations to bring the situations under control in Syria.

 Several programmes would be taken up across the State in support of the Syria against the civil war that is taking place which is resembling the like a world war, he said.
 He demanded that the representatives of United Nations take initiative to stop the civil war in Syria.

 The CPI-M leaders Nunna Nageshwar Rao, Y Srikanth, B Yakaiah, Y Srinivas Rao, P Naga Sulochana, Shaik Himam, S K Babu, V Nageshwar Rao, P Sathyanarayan, S Veera Babu, S K Qasim, Md. Pasha and S K Masthan were present along with others.
