Water released from Musi project

Nalgonda: Irrigation officials on Friday released water to canals of Musi project. The officials released the water on Friday after they closed the gates three days. As the farmers protested over stopping the release of water, Minister for Energy Jagadish Reddy intervened and directed the District Collector to look into the matter. 

With Nakrekal MLA Veersham bringing pressure on the officials, the  District Collector Gaurav Uppal directed the Irrigation officials to release water immediately. The officials agree to rlease 250 cusecs of water for three days from Musi to save the crops under right canal. 

Speaking on this occasion, officials said at present the water level in the project is at 219.3 feet and can be released until water level goes down to 219 feet. They advised the farmers to extend their cooperation  to the officials to ensure that the water reaches the tail end farmers.
