Rahul Gandhi holds meet with Telangana leaders, assures support to expelled Congress MLAs

All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi held a meeting with Telangana leaders after the plenary.

He discussed the expulsion of the two MLAs during the meeting and urged the leaders from Telangana to expose the failure of the ruling TRS government.

The AICC president assured the two party legislators Sampath Kumar and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, who were expelled from the Telangana Assembly not to worry as Congress was behind them and they should continue to take on the ruling TRS by raising issues for the welfare of the people.

He even added that if the need arises, Supreme Court senior advocates such as Kapil Sibal and Abhishek Singhvi would take up their case in the apex court. At present, the case pertaining to their expulsion is in the High Court. 

With the High Court directing the Election Commission not to notify elections to the two Assembly constituencies for the next six weeks, the Telangana Congress leaders are confident of getting justice in the High Court itself.
