Hyderabad: Rs 70 lakh worth liquor stolen, 7 held

Seven people were arrested on Saturday for allegedly duping the employees of Shaw Wallace Company (United Spirits Ltd) and stealing Rs 70 lakh worth liquor.

The accused identified Rakesh, G Sanjeev, drivers Sammaiah, Mohammed Munner, Mohammed Majid, painter D Ravi Kumar, private employee C Nagesh believed the firm of having a huge demand for liquor during Panchayat elections. 

According to the commercial manager of United Spirits Limited, a consignment of 950 cases of IMFL left their depot but did not reach the destination.

The Rachakonda police cracked the case based on the telephone numbers and arrested the accused. The police also seized 849 cartons of liquor from their possession.
