G-Cot enters into MoU with PJTSAU

Hyderabad: The Gramodaya Chamber of Commerce and Technology (G -Cot) has entered the Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) with Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural university (PJTSAU) here on Friday, at the Water Technology Center (WTC), Hyderabad. 

The MoU was signed by the Registrar, PJTSAU  Dr.S Sudheer kumar, and G-Cot Managing Director D. Vasantha kumar, in the presence of Vice Chancellor Dr. V Praveen Rao.  As part of the MoU both institutions would work for collaborating academic programs, research partnerships and supporting Research &Development through innovation, entrepreneurship and training in various fields of common interest related to bringing the results of Science and Technology to society and extension of services to the farmers, various self –help groups of G –Cot working villages in the state.

On this occasion, Telangana Retired Engineers Association (TREA) General Secretary M. Shyamprasad Reddy has delivered the lecture through power point presentation on “Irrigation in Telangana and re engineering of Major Projects”. He said that, there is a need to have the comprehensive sustainable water management under the ongoing and other irrigation projects in the state. The piped irrigation network is the essential despite of having the open canal distribution system he added. He urged the agricultural engineers and other scientists to create awareness to the farmers on sustainable water management under lift irrigation projects in the state. He explained about the efforts of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao in bringing out the 1.25crore acres under irrigation in various projects in the state and make “Telangana Koti Acarala nela.”  

While addressing the gathering Vice Chancellor Dr. V Praveen Rao has stated that the scientists should take up the societal related research problems and show the solution to their problems. Under the ongoing and completed lift irrigation projects the university scientists role is crucial in educating the farmers on the aspects of crop planning, water requirement for crops, water management, what are the crops suitable to grow in their fields, when the crop is raised such information is very much essential to impart to the farmers, said the VC.
