CEO seeks report on missing voters in Tandur

Tandur: Reacting to a report published in The Hans India on February 5, the Telangana State Chief Electoral Officer sought a report from the district election officers on the missing 29,000 names from the voters list in Tandur town of Vikarabad district. The municipal machinery had been put on a high alert following the incident. 

Voters’ registration programme intensified following the missing names fiasco. The civic body staff are currently undertaking door-to-door visits along with the RDO Venu Madhava Rao, Municipal Commissioner Bhogeswarlu, Anganwadi activists, resource persons from women’s groups, town planning department officials and the village revenue assistant.
