Vikarabad in Jogulamba Zone

Vikarabad: The vociferous demand of merging Vikarabad into Charminar Zone by the employees, unemployed and other organisations, at last could not yield as the Central government okayed the zonal system proposed by the State government. This region has been lagging behind though it is very nearer to Hyderabad. 

If Vikarabad was merged with Charminar Zone, youth from this area would have got more employment opportunities. Frequency of recruitment is also high in this region. Keeping these factors in view, the demand had been more vigorous across the district. Even people’s representatives also took this to the notice of the Chief Minister. But the CM did not pay much attention as he doubted several such demands might arise. As result, the new zone Jogulamba came into existence with the districts Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy, Nagarkurnool, JogulambaGadwala, Vikarabad.

The exercise for creating new zonal system was initiated on January 26 in this year. This proposal was introduced in Assembly and the resolution was passed on May 24. Until recently, the proposal was pending for Presidential Orders. Job aspirants in Mahabubnagar district will be the most benefitted candidates in the newly formed zone.People of this district expressed their happiness over the creation of new zone. They are delighted that justice has been done to them for losing opportunities in united state. According to the zonal system in united AP, Mahabubnagar was in sixth zone along with Rangareddy, Nalgonda, Medak, Nizamabad and Hyderabad. Now this is really a good development for the youth of Mahabubnagar.

But the situation is different in Vikarabad. This educationallybackwarddistrict is going to face some hardships in the new zone. The hopes of the youth have been dashed. They are going to lose a big recruitment chances. But the aspirants of Vikarabad district have to face competition with erstwhile Mahabubnagar district.

Generally recruitment takes place at district, zonal and multi-zonal levels. Some zones are really tough competition for candidates due to better literacy rate. This was the main reason for growing demand for recreation of new zones. After formation of Telangana, the state government meticulously worked on new zones. After weighing pros and cons, the decision was taken and the new zonal system would uplift the people of the backward district, observed an educationist.
