Hyderabad gets an exclusive park for dogs

 Hyderabad : In a first of kind initiative, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has started an exclusive park for dogs.
 
Telangana Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi, Municipal Administration Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar, GHMC Commissioner M. Dana Kishore and other officials inaugurated the theme part on Dussera Day in Kondapur on Thursday.
 
Interacting with the media persons, the Chief Secretary informed that India’s first dog park has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.1 crore on 1.3 acres of land. The park has been equipped with dog training equipment, play equipment, areas of exercise, splash pool, fountain, amphi-theatre, lawns, separate kennels for big and small dogs and even a clinic.
 
This park is developed as per the International Standards for dogs and it has been certified by Kennel Club of India. He said other cities should also take a cue from this and give dogs the much needed recreational space. Depending on the success of this park, the GHMC has plans to put up one more park in Eastern part of the city, said the Chief Secretary.
