Students throng water theme park

Jubilee Hills: Students of AP Residential schools of Sheikpet and Narsingi visited the recently inaugurated Rain water theme park on Wednesday. The park was constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 3 crore in 1.2 acres at Jubilee Hills Road no. 51. Although it was inaugurated a week ago, the park was opened to students on Wednesday for the first time. 

Established with an aim to bring awareness on water harvesting and preservation among children, the park has 42 different models demonstrating water harvesting and preserving methods. Students observed the constructions of various models with curiosity. Students were attracted by ‘Talking Tree’ which explains how forests help in bringing rains. Similarly, 3D videos showing the supply of water to Hyderabad city from Krishna and Godavari attracted many students. 

Speaking on the occasion, Executive Director of the park M Sathyanarayana said that park aims to teach students value of water. He said that various models at park increase awareness among children on need for water preservation. He said that there is no entry fee and anyone can visit the theme park. Earlier, Jalamandali Secondary Transmission Director Dr PS Suryanarayana explained to the students, different methods of harvesting rain water. Among those present on the occasion include Jalamandali officials M Sudarshan, M Sathyanarayana and other authorities.
