Step up vigil at check-posts: CP to cops

Khammam: Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal on Friday ordered the police officials step up vigil at check posts located on the out skirts of the city and CCTV cameras keeping in view ensuing Assembly elections. The CP was addressing a review meeting with the police officials here at Special Branch’s mini-conference hall in Khammam.

Tafseer Iqbal said that fool proof measures are taken for maintaining law and order and conducting elections transparently in the district. It is the responsibility of every police official to see that every eligible person to utilize his voting right. The officials must build confidence among the people and take steps for smooth conduct of elections, suggested the CP.

Identifying the risk-prone polling stations, the officials were asked to take measures for preventing the political parties and leaders who influence the voters by luring them with money and liquor and those who threaten the weaker sections. Tafseer Iqbal ordered officials to implement strictly the model code of conduct by establishing cordial relations with concern officials in respective villages and mandals along with conducting regular inspections of the identified risk-prone areas.

The ITBP Officer Uday Veera Singh, Town ACP Venkatrao, Rural ACP Ramoji Ramesh, Wyra ACP Prasanna Kumar, Kallur ACP Anjaneyulu Traffic ACP Sada Niranjan, Task Force ACP Rehaman, AR ACP’s Vijay Baby and Riyaz and SB Circle Inspector Sampath Kumar among others attended the meeting.
