CPM stages protest for 34% quota for Backward Classes

Bhongir: Expressing concern over reducing the Backward Classes reservations from 34 to 23 per cent in Gram Panchayat elections, CPI-M district unit staged a protest demonstration in front of the District Collectorate on Thursday Addressing the gathering,  CPI-M Yadadri- Bhongir district secretary  B Jahangir demanded that State government implement 34 per cent reservation to BCs. 

Reducing BC reservation to 23 per cent from 34 per cent meant doing injustice to the downtrodden, he said. He threatened to intensify the agitation if the State government failed to respond positively. 

BC Sangam district president K Narasimha Swamy, Party leaders Kondamadugu Narasimha, Bala Raju , Kalluri Mallesham, B Anuradha, N Venkatesham and others participated.
