Hyderabad Metro launches M-Trainer van by NVS Reddy

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) Managing Director NVS Reddy launched M-Trainer Van (mobile training van) at Metro Rail Bhavan premises in Begumpet on Sunday. Through this van training would be given to the security personnel working in Metro Rail stations and other facilities. The HMRL MD described it as a “Transformational Leap” in security training, and added, this is first of its kind in our country to conduct on the job training for security personnel onsite through a mobile van.

Launching the facility, the HMRL MD directed Dy Commissioner of Police, HMRL, A. Balakrishna to organise periodical security training through M-Trainer Van to all the security personnel working at Hyderabad Metro Rail Stations. Equipped with TV sets, CCTV camera, Fire equipment and other electronic gadgets, this Mobile Van will be permanently placed in Hyderabad at the disposal of HMRL. “The training will be conducted through audio-video films & PPT, posters, boards, Hand books etc., and it will be monitored through the National Command Centre. The hard-disk is GPRS enabled through latest technology, so that we can track location, running time of each subject,” NVS Reddy added.

He also appreciated the good work being done by the police personnel and the private security guards working at Metro stations. He specifically mentioned about detecting and catching some passengers carrying camouflaged knives in leather pouches, highly inflammable liquids, banned drugs etc through careful frisking & proper usage of metal detectors, DFMD scrutiny, etc., at different stations. He advised DCP, HMRL to periodically give publicity to the detected dangerous instruments so that the passengers understand the importance of security checks. But at the same time, security personnel shall be courteous to passengers & reflect friendly policing practices at Metro stations, he counselled.

HMRL DCP A Balakrishna said about 900 security personnel were working in Hyderabad Metro Rail stations in three shifts and a reputed private security agency is providing the security personnel and that the security being provided at the metro installations is of high standard. HMRL senior officers DVS Raju, Laxman, Anand Mohan, Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, B.N. Rajeswar, and others participated in the programme.
