Cong leaders assume charge of new posts

 Khammam: Senior Congress leader Puvvalla Durga Prasad assumed charge as the president of the Khammam District Congress Committee (DCC) at the party office here on Sunday. It may be mentioned here that the DCC post fell vacant after the demise of Aitham Satyam last year. With the top leaders of the district tugging in different directions to get their man appointed as the DCC chief, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) which stuck in dilemma didn’t dare to fill the post.

Against this backdrop, the AICC chose Puvvalla Durga Prasad who is said to be a close associate of Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.

 Senior leaders Md Javed and Nagandla Deepak Chowdary have also sworn in as the City Congress president and working president respectively. Speaking on the occasion, the trio vowed to work hard in strengthening the party from grassroot level.
