The young tennis champ

 Bhavani, a tennis player with a hearing aid gets selected to the national team of deaf 

Bhavani studies in D B Girls Junior College in CEC group after finishing her  10th from Rishi Public School. Being hearing impaired, it was difficult for her to get admission in school as reputed institutions rejected her. However, Rishi Public School accepted her. Her Her coach  Praveen Bhargav of Ace Tennis Academy too helped her.

Recently, with passion and hard work she gained her place on the national team of deaf. Bhavani started playing tennis at the age of 9. For children with hearing problem, learning to speak is itself a difficult task. Her mother Madhu ran from pillar to post to various speech therapists to teach her, and now she can speak in Hindi and English.  Her mother’s effortsmade her speak like a normal child.  

Bhavani has set an example of never losing hope she fought for vision, hearing and life as well. She is playing tennis since last 6 years but had won only one local YMCA tournament in 2016 and she came into national games for ,deaf in ranchi 2017. But she believed in herself which fetched her selection in the National team.  She says that Serena Willams and Roger are her favourite players and her inspiration to her sports career.
