Like many of her age, she too pursued engineering before taking up acting as a career. “I am an engineering graduate. While I was pursuing my engineering, many of my friends wanted to do short films and requested me to act in them. It was an entirely new experience for me. But, when I heard the director call out for ‘Action’ the very first time, there was a visible change in me and I started behaving like the character and I was taken aback.  It was then I realised, I had a thing for camera and during the process of making these short films I explored the actor in me and became very passionate about acting.”

Being in the list of top 25 Miss Hyderabad contestants in the year 2011 gave Swetaa, exposure and she feels it was because of the beauty pageant she was noticed and that led her to choose acting as a profession.
Talking about the web series that she is currently shooting for, ‘Ee Office Lo’ she shares, “It is about a protagonist named Sidhu who leaves his job in the US to start something on his own.

Usually to start   something on your own is a huge thing. In the series, Sidhu’s parents are shocked about his decision and he leaves his house in the process. The whole story is about how he follows his dream and along the way we have a ‘pellichupulu’ scene where I fall for him and he is not really interested in me. To his surprise I turn out to be a loan manager whom he meets for his business. I play the character of a girl who is very independent and frank. I love my character, which is unlike how women are usually portrayed as weak.”

The actress is surely finding a foothold in the acting worlld. Her upcoming projects too are quite impressive. “I am going to play the role of the character Kalpavali in the Hindi web series of ‘Baahubali’, I play the love interest of Rahul Bose. Apart from that I worked in an independent female-oriented film, which is going to be previewed in December second week. The there is this dark comedy titled ‘Mithai’ that is going to be released worldwide next month.  From now on every web series or film I work in will see me in a completely new body language,” she relates.

The actress who involves herself in the character that she plays has other interests as well – she rides a Royal Enfield and loves going on long drives in her car by her own. She enjoys her own company and also loves playing with her dog. She loves watching movies with her dad who is her best friend.
