10 persons held for attacking cops

Yadagirigutta: The Yadagirigutta circle police have arrested the accused who have attacked the SOT team that went to check the warehouses storing PDS rice illegally.

The arrested were identified Madoth Chanti, Madoth Srikanth, Madoth Umesh, Mudavath Hari, Mudavath Suresh, Bhukya Bhasker, Banoth Nagesh of Puttagudem village and Reddaboina Prabhakar, Bhimanapally Manohar and Bhimanapally Anjaneyulu of Mallagudem village of Rajapeta mandal in the district

Producing the arrested before the media at Yadagirigutta circle office on Friday, CI Anjaneyulu said on March 9 at 6 pm, the SOT officials headed to Madothu Umesh farm land on the outskirts of Puttagudem village and found PDS rice dumped in the vicinity.

When the officials questioned the accused persons regarding the storing of PDS rice, the accused attacked them with sticks and stones and tried to kill them. The police officials who suffered critical injuries narrated the entire episode to the Yadagirigutta police, who after probe, took the accused into custody on Friday.
