26 gates of Nagarjuna Sagar lifted due to heavy inflow

All the 26 gates of Nagarjuna Sagar project were lifted due to heavy inflow of flood water. The project has been receiving 8.70 lakh cusecs of flood water and around 8.63 lakh cusecs was released to downstream.

The officials have issued a warning to the people residing at the catchment area of the reservoir. It is learned that Pulichintala project will be filled by today night.

The water-level in the Nagarjuna Sagar reservoir touched to 556 ft mark as against the full reservoir level of 590 ft. The project received 223.19 TMC of water as against total capacity 312 TMC.
