3 inter-State transformer thieves caught in Adilabad

Adilabad: Superintendent of Police Vishnu S Warrier informed that the police had detained three professional offenders of transformers' copper wire theft and recovered 400 kilos of copper worth Rs 1.60 lakhs from them.

Speaking at a press meet held at AR headquarters here on Tuesday, the SP said the trio were involved in 22 transformer thefts across the district and the police detained them with the cooperation of CCS Utnoor police.

The arrested were identified as Shankar Jyothiram Kinake, resident of Ranganath Nagar; Swapnil Vinay Chide of Gokul Nagar; and Prakash Ram Hawaldar, resident of Gokul Nagar of Yawatman district of Maharashtra.

The SP said CCS inspector M Rajkumar along with three constables has been searching for them for the last one month in Maharashtra.At last the cops found the thieves at Utnoor chowrasta in Adilabad district.The SP presented an award to CCS Inspector Rajkumar.

Utnoor Inspector K Naresh Kumar, SI B Anil, head constables Tajuddin, Ramesh Rathod, Prem Singh, Jagan and others were present at the press meet.
