Khammam: After Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao gave permission to run RTS buses, several buses came on to the road across the district on Tuesday morning. The State-run buses have resumed service after nearly two months after March 22. Nearly 40% of the buses of the six depots in Khammam region started plying from 6 am on Tuesday.

RTC Regional Manager SVG Krishna Murthy said out of the total 601 buses in the region, 246 are running in the district. He said all passengers have to wear mask, follow social distance and no standing allowed. The buses will run from 6 am to 7 pm only as per the government's guidelines, he added.

The RM said the department is giving masks to drivers and conductors and every conductor should have sanitiser. All the buses are sanitised at terminal points and in the depots. Hand washing facility was provided in bus stands also.
