ABVP bandh successful in Nalgonda

Nalgonda: The bandh call given by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad in protest against collection of huge fee besides selling of books and stationery material on premises of private educational institutions was successful in the district on Friday.

As part of their programme, the ABVP activists visited private schools and instructed them to shut down in support of their protest. They raised slogans against private institutions for collecting huge fee and demanded the government to protect parents and students from the exploitation of private schools.

Meanwhile, most of the private schools announced holiday well in advance to avoid inconvenience to their students.

Addressing the media on the day, ABVP Nalgonda district in-charge Nagaraju informed that education has became a costly affair as private institutions were fleecing parents in the name of quality education. He demanded the government to support and strengthen public-funded education institutions and gradually minimise the role of private schools in the forthcoming days.
