Adivasis take a step against Tiger Zone

Asifabad: Adivasis took out a huge protest rally in the district centre against the formation of Tiger Zone. Leaders of respective political parties participated in this protest that started from Kumaram Bheem intersection and expressed support for the tribal movement.

Later, the agitators sat in front of the Collectorate and protested. On this occasion, MLA Kovalakshmi, former MLA Koneru Konappa, BRS State General Secretary RS Praveen Kumar, former MP Soyam Babu Rao, and Tudum Teb State President Kotnaka Vijay said that the formation of Tiger Zone has posed a threat to the existence of the tribals.

They said that the authorities are already not allowing bore wells and roads to be constructed in villages in the name of reserve forest. They said that they have to face restrictions even when they enter the Tiger Zone.

They demanded the immediate withdrawal of GO 49, which has become an obstacle to the development of the tribals. To this end, a petition was submitted to the statue of Kumaram Bheem. District President Kova Vijay, tribal leaders Barsa Pochayya, Madavi Srinivas, and tribals who came from all corners of the district participated in this programme.
