BSP Demands Action to Curb Illegal Sand Transportation in Telkapally Mandal
Nagar kurnool: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leaders submitted a representation to the Telkapally Mandal Tahsildar and Sub-Inspector, urging immediate action to stop the increasing illegal sand transportation in the region.
On Tuesday, a BSP delegation led by former State EC member Prithviraj and District In-charge C. Kalyan met the officials and expressed concern over the unchecked movement of sand from Dundubhi Vagu. They alleged that tractors and tippers are transporting sand illegally from Nadigadda and Ramagiri villages after 10 PM, without any permissions.
The leaders demanded that the Mandal Revenue Office and the police department remain vigilant and take strict measures to curb illegal sand extraction. They also criticised that under the guise of Indiramma Housing beneficiaries, several fake claimants are involved in transporting sand illegally.
They urged officials to deploy police personnel during late-night hours in Nadigadda and Ramagiri villages and maintain continuous surveillance to prevent the illegal activity.
Former District General Secretary Harsha, EC member Nagaraj, Srikant, and others participated in the programme.
