Burglar nabbed valuables worth 7.2 lakh recovered in Khammam

Khammam: The Thallada police arrested a burglar on Monday and recovered valuables worth Rs 7.22 lakh besides two motor bikes from the accused.

According to Wyra Circle Inspector Ramakanth, the accused identified as Pendra Mangaiah, a resident of Kistaram in Sathupalli mandal of Khammam, was arrested based on call data of a mobile phone he had stolen from a house in Thallada sometime back.

During interrogation, he confessed to have committed seven thefts under Thallada and Raghunadhapalem mandal police station limits and at two places in East Godavari and Visakhapatnam districts in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.

The police recovered gold ornaments weighing 193 grams, silver ornaments weighing 406 grams, two mobile phones, two motorcycles and a cash of Rs 1.50 lakh from the accused.
