Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has sought the Centre’s help to expedite game changing projects in the State, especially Musi rejuvenation project, Metro Rail expansion and the Regional Ring Road (RRR).

Participating in the regional meeting of Urban Development ministers that was chaired by Union Minister of Housing and Urban Development Manohar Lal Khattar here on Tuesday, the Chief Minister pitched for a robust economic growth in the state with Centre’s support, including for completing big projects like lifting of river Godavari water to Hyderabad for drinking water needs.

He brought to the attention of the union minister about approvals pending with the Centre. He sought an immediate nod and release of financial aid to Metro Rail Phase-2 and the Musi project. He wondered why Telangana should be denied support when Gujarat was getting adequate funds for all state projects.

The Chief Minister spoke about the zero carbon emission measures, including promotion of EV vehicles in the state. He said that 3,000 electric buses will be pressed into service in Hyderabad in the coming year. He also talked about the Future City project, global investments in the new city and the proposed dry port to bolster the state economy.

"We are not competing with other states in the country. Our competition is with Singapore, Tokyo, and New York. It requires the cooperation of the central government," he said.

Stating that the state government will release TelanganaRising Vision Document 2047 on December 9, the Chief Minister said: "We are working towards making Telangana a $1 trillion economy by 2034. We expect Telangana to contribute 10 per cent to the country's economy."

This was in tune with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Viksit Bharat@2047 vision, he said.
