Collector urged for Dalit quota

Tandur: Dalit association of the town requested the District Collector to provide reservations for the ward elections based on the population proportion. They handed over a memorandum to the Collector regarding this, on Monday.

They explained her that some influential forces are misleading the officials to deprive Dalits of reservation benefits in areas like South Tandur, Ambedkar Nagar, Sitharampet, Indra Nagar, where the Dalit population is greater.

They requested the Collector to allot reservations to SCs where their population is more than 50%. Jai Bheem Jana Chaitanya Youth Association leaders Venkat, David, Narsimhulu, Raghu, Sunny, Prem, Shivaji and Raju were present on the occasion.
