Congress workers protest Priyanka's arrest in UP

Kazipet: The Congress workers led by DCC president N Rajender Reddy staged a road blockade here on Saturday, in protest against the arrest of AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi by the Uttar Pradesh police on Friday.

They shouted slogans against the BJP government in UP for undemocratically arresting Priyanka Gandhi. It may be recalled here that police arrested her when she was on her way to Sonbhadra district to meet the relatives of the people those who were killed in the recent caste violence.

The Congress leaders said that the BJP is trying to throttle the voice of Opposition. Senior leaders Katla Srinivas Rao, Namindla Srinivas, EV Srinivas Rao, Bathini Srinivas Rao, S Chandraiah, Corporators Rama Ravinder Yadav, Lingam Mounika Charan Reddy and T Raju were among others took part in the protest.
