Cycling is a healthy sport: Collector Shashanka

Karimnagar: Cycling is a healthy sport, said District Collector K Shashanka, who was the chief guest at State level Cycling Competitions held near the railway station here on Sunday.

Addressing the participants, the Collector asked the students to excel in sports along with studies and to continue to play sports. He said that sports persons of the district should excel in sports not only at district level but also at State, national and international level.

He asked the parents and teachers to encourage students between the age group of 16 years to take part in sports. Stating that this is the second State level cycling event in Karimnagar district, the Collector said that cycling track is needed in Karimnagar.

Police Commissioner VB Kamalasan Reddy, Cycling Association district president Madhusudhan Reddy, honorary president Narender Reddy, State Cycling Association president Malla Reddy and others participated in the event.
