Engg student held for making derogatory comments on KCR in Karimnagar

Karimnagar: A college student was arrested here on Thursday for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in the social media, police said.

Vilasagaram Sai Kumar (21), a B Tech student, posted a selfie-video in which he purportedly made derogatory comments against the Chief Minister for his speech at a meeting on March 17, they said.

Assistant Commissioner of Police P Ashok said based on the video, a case was registered against the accused under various sections of IPC, including 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace).

Kumar has been remanded in judicial custody, he added.
