Father, son get life imprisonment for murder in Suryapet

Suryapet: The District Sessions Court on Wednesday sentenced a man and his son for life imprisonment for murdering a man over the land dispute in 2014.

Additional District Sessions Judge Kalyana Chakravarthi awarded life imprisonment and a penalty of Rs 5000 to convict Pandiri Amrutha Reddy and his son Srikanth Reddy who are native of Jeerypothulagudem of Chilkur mandal in the district intentionally murdered one Pandiri Shyam Sunder Reddy in connection over a land dispute on August 2, 2014 . On complaint of the deceased's wife Madavi, the local police registered a case and Kodad CI Mogilaiah investigated the case. The police collected evidences against the accused and produced 21 witnesses before the court. Accepting the arguments of the public prosecutor Grandhi, the judge convicted both the accused and sentenced them to life imprisonment and slapped a penalty of Rs 5,000.
