Hiked RTC fare to be effective from tomorrow in Telangana

The RTC fare that was hiked by the government by 20 Paise per km (express buses) will be come into effect from tomorrow.

The government has announced to hike the bus fare to save TSRTC from slipping into further debts. The fare hike would generate Rs 750 crore annually to the organisation. The RTC is also planning to hike the minimum fare to Rs 10 in cities and Rs 8 in Palle Velugu buses.

It is known that the RTC workers have resumed duties on November 29 after 55-day strike. The workers went on strike with a primary demand of merging RTC with government.
