Hyderabad: Home Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali not to celebrate his birthday

Malakpet: While referring to the anxiety over the CAA, NRC and NPR across the country and following the communal clashes in Delhi people died, the Telangana State Home Minister, Mohammad Mahmood Ali announced that he would not be celebrating his birthday on March 2.

According to official statement, around 27 people lost their lives in Delhi riots and earlier in Uttar Pradesh on the issue of CAA, NRC and NPR. He lamented that many lives were destroyed in the communal clash, include death of a policeman which he regretted.

He stated that he was equally involved in the grief of all those who died. As part of expressing solidarity with the families of the deceased on the occasion of his birthday on March 2, the Home Minister would pray Zohar (Afternoon) Namaz at the mosque of Yousufain (Nampally Dargah's Premises),

On this occasion, special prayers would be arranged to mitigate the atmosphere of anxiety and fear across the country and to maintain peace, tranquility and brotherhood in the country. He urged the people, especially the party leaders and party workers, to refrain from cutting the birthday cake and celebrating his birthday.

Earlier, during the morning hours, Mahmood Ali, also released Telangana State Trade Promotion Corporation's (TSTPC) New Year diary and calendar at his residence. The programme was attended by Minister V Srinivas Goud and several others. Mohamood Ali also unveiled the chadar to be presented at the annual Urs of Sufi Saint Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishti at Ajmer, Rajasthan by TRS senior leader from Musheerabad, Mohammed Junaid Bhogdadi.
