Hyderabad: Vehicle registration number sold for Rs 8.6 lakh in online auction

The vehicle registration number - TS07HE9999 fetched Rs 8,66,116 at Upparpally RDO office through online auction on Wednesday.

G Siva Rama Krishna, a resident of Aparna Towers in Kothaguda of Serilingampally quoted the amount for his vehicle registration. The officials said that there were two other bids for the same number.

However, the number was accorded to Siva Rama Krishna as he quoted a higher amount than the other two persons. Rama Krishna fetched the number for his new Range Rover car. This is the first time that the registration number fetched a huge amount through an online auction.

According to the deputy transport commissioner, around Rs 11,39,641 lakh has been collected in the auction for various vehicle registration numbers on Wednesday.
