Speaking on the occasion, TUWJ State vice-president Taduri Karunakar alleged that the State government failed to fulfil many of its promises made to the journalists of print and electronic media and is deceiving them with mesmerising words.

'The lives of journalists had become miserable in the newly formed Telangana from the past six years. Thousands of journalists participated actively in separate Telangana movement and had given much needed momentum and played a key role in taking the movement to the gross-root levels through various media organisations they worked, hoping that their lives would become better after the formation of separate Telangana, he added.

During election campaign, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao promised the journalists of resolving all their issues and allotment of housing sites if he comes to power. But till date KCR didn't fulfilled even a single promise, he criticised.

Karunakar demanded the TRS government fulfilment of all the promises that were made to the journalists along with allotting housing plots, issuing of health cards and to suspend GO NO 239. TUWJ district president Gandla Srinivas, general secretary Janampet Maruthi Swamy, treasurer Sharath, State committee members Anjaneyulu, A Ravinder, Vijaysimha Rao, E Madhukar Reddy, Narasing Rao, Mahendra Chary, Vijay Bhaskar, Shankar, Jaganmohan, Ravindra Chary, Imaam and Asaad were present along with others.
