After sweating it out in the campaign in Jubilee Hills, BRS top leaders, including party working president KT Rama Rao and senior leader T Harish Rao, have embarked on district tours, taking up the issues of farmers and others.

The BRS Working President KT Rama Rao visited two districts in the span of two days. In Sircilla, Rama Rao visited Ginning Mill in Neradigonda where the paddy procurement was going on.

He tried to fill in confidence among the farmers asking them not to worry and said that the BRS was going to come back into power and ensure the entire crop is procured by setting up procurement centres in every village. On Tuesday, the BRS leader visited Adilabad district. He visited the market yard and interacted with the soya farmers and also the cotton farmers. The farmers shared their problems with the BRS leader.

While KTR is in north Telangana, senior leader Harish Rao visited Warangal on Tuesday. The BRS leader interacted with the people affected with floods and also the farmers.

Speaking to the media later, Harish Rao alleged that fertilizers were not available, seeds were not available, power was not supplied properly, Rythu Bandhu was not given, loan waiver was not implemented, bonus is denied and even the crop insurance does not exist. Isn’t this the reality, Revanth Reddy, he asked.

The BRS leader further asked whether the Congress government fulfilled even one promise made in the Warangal Declaration. He also questioned the Central government’s move to remove import duty on the cotton and palm oil. Who benefits when import duty on cotton and palm oil is removed?

Why are the lives of farmers being tightened like a noose, he questioned. The BRS leader said that 20,000 houses were submerged in Warangal. If gates were lifted on time, Warangal would not have drowned. The government promised Rs 15,000 per damaged house. Two months have passed. Not one rupee has been released.

The move of the senior leaders attains significance as the government is planning to go for the Panchayat elections in the state in December. The visit to the district is part of the outreach to reach out to the farmers by bringing their issues and giving confidence to them that the party was there to support in the time of distress, said a senior leader in the party.
