Lok Sabha elections 2019: Over Rs 26 Cr seized in Telangana till now

A total of Rs 26 crore worth of cash, liquor, drugs and narcotic was seized in Telangana till Sunday morning. As the model code of conduct was in place, the police department intensified the checks in and around the state to curb the money and liquor flow ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in Telangana.

Of the total Rs 26 crore, Rs 20.18 crore was cash that was seized by state police (Rs 12.83 crore) and Income Tax department (Rs 7.35 crore). The police and the excise department have seized Rs 3.02 crore worth 9,102 litres of liquor.

Narcotic and drugs worth Rs 2.48 crore was seized by FS, SST and police.
