Man drinks acid mistaking for alcohol in Hyderabad

A 36-year-old man died on Saturday after he consumed acid for mistaking for alcohol here at New Bowenpally.

Ganesh (36), a grade-4 officer in Mint Compound consumed alcohol on May 9 and returned home in an intoxicated state. Later, he saw an acid bottle at home and consumed it mistaking it for alcohol.

He was rushed to hospital after experiencing severe burns in his throat where he died on Saturday while undergoing treatment.

The police registered a case and handed over Ganesh's body to his family after an autopsy.
