Mild tremors in Telangana's Narayanpet

Mild tremors felt in Narayanpet district of Telangana around 9.40 am on Wednesday leaving the people across the district in panic. Villagers in Utkur, Nidugurthi, Chinnaporla, Peddha Jatram and other villages rushed out of their houses.

According to the villagers, the tremors were felt for about two seconds. No damage has been reported in any part of the district.

The officials of National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) have been informed who are monitoring seismic activity in the area.

In October this year, parts of Hyderabad like Borabanda, financial district, Gopanpally, areas of Gachibowli felt the tremors during evening time following heavy rains in Hyderabad. The NGRI recorded the microearthquakes 0.8 on the Richter scale.

In January, an earthquake occurred on the banks of river Krishna in Suryapet district of Telangana. The tremors were also felt in other districts of the state including areas like Old City, Bowenpally and Ashok Nagar.
