Police Commissioner calls for providing immediate respite to complainants

Khammam: The 'Praja Divas' (Grievance day) programme was conducted by Police Commissioner Tafseer Iqbal on Monday at the Police Commissioner's office. The Police Commissioner, who received the pleas from people of different parts of the district, ordered the police officers concerned to take necessary legal action and help the victims of land dealings, family disputes, personal problems and financial issues.

On the day, a woman from Madhira complained to the Commissioner to take legal action against her husband who has been harassing for dowry. The woman stated that they had an inter-caste marriage, and alleged that her husband was harassing mentally and physically for dowry after the birth of two children.

Similarly, a woman from Sattupalli complained against her husband, a government employee of Eluru, having in an extra-marital relationship and threatened to kill her if she exposed.

Further, a person belonging to Khammam complained to Commissioner that had bought two acres of land from a person belonging to Puttaparthi and gave Rs 70 lakh as advance after the vender gave passbooks which have been identified as fake by the VRO. When confronted, the vendor failed to return the money and threatened him.

Similarly, some people from Khanapuram of Khammam complained against a builder that he cheated the buyers by selling them building despite there were Rs 16 lakh worth pending works for each building. He also failed to comply with the sales agreement and was refusing to finish the building works, they complained.
