Rage in the form of protests continue in Warangal

Warangal: Protests continued on Thursday, a day after the gruesome incident in which a youth molested and killed a nine-month-old infant in Hanamkonda, demanding that the government appoint a fast track court to ensure justice is delivered at the earliest. The activists of several organisations, who sat on a hunger strike at the Ekashila Park, demanded that the government take stringent action against the accused involved in crime against women. The protestors demanded that the lawmakers discuss about it in the ongoing Parliament session.

Telangana Urban Areas Development Forum (TUDA) member Thota Pavan said it is time for the government to take tough stance and ensure such instances should not be repeated.

Recalling the recent incident in which a 20-year-old student Ravali was set afire by her childhood friend in Hanamkonda, he emphasised the need for more legislations that deter people from committing such heinous crimes.

Meanwhile, Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Warangal West MLA D Vinay Bhaskar consoled the parents of the victim. They assured them of fast tracking the case so that the accused would get punishment without any delay. On the other hand, Warangal District Bar Association which condemned the heinous incident passed a unanimous resolution not to defend the accused Kolipaka Praveen in the infant murder case.
