Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Launches Statewide Distribution of One Crore Sarees to Women
Gadwal: On the occasion of Indira Gandhi’s birth anniversary, Telangana Chief Minister Enmula Revanth Reddy announced that the state government is distributing one crore sarees to one crore women as part of a large-scale welfare initiative.
The Chief Minister held a video conference on Wednesday from Hyderabad with district collectors, women’s association members, and fellow ministers to review the preparations for the saree distribution program.
Speaking on the occasion, he stated that the government has decided to provide one crore Indiramma sarees to women. The distribution will be conducted in rural areas from today until December 9, and in urban areas from March 1 to March 8 under the “Indira Amma Saree” program. He instructed officials to involve local public representatives to ensure the saree distribution takes place in a festive atmosphere without any disputes.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy emphasized that the government's broader goal is to empower women and help them become financially prosperous, aligning with the vision of transforming “one crore women into crorepatis.”

Participating in the video conference, District Collector B. M. Santosh reported that the district has 80,000 women members, and the district has received 86,000 sarees for distribution. He directed officials to distribute the sarees across all villages in the district’s two constituencies under the supervision of special officers, as per government guidelines.
The Collector instructed APMs, village secretaries, and women’s association members to conduct the distribution smoothly and without issues. He also emphasized inviting local public representatives to participate and ensuring the event is organized in a celebratory atmosphere.
He further directed that every beneficiary’s photograph and Aadhaar number must be collected as part of the distribution process.
Collector Santosh highlighted that the state government is committed to making women’s associations financially strong by providing interest-free bank loans, and supporting their economic development through the establishment of buses, petrol bunks, and solar plants in the district. He urged women to make full use of the opportunities provided by the government to enhance their financial well-being.
