He said about 25,000 farmers in Maharashtra have formed into cooperative societies and are successfully running 203 the sugar factories. He stressed on the production of sugar, molasses, spirit and by-products and the main objective of the Rythu Bandhu Samitis (RBS) is to unite farmers.

Niranjan Reddy said that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has formed the RBS with a foresight. Taking advantage of this, the Minister asked the farmers to first focus on the cultivation of sugarcane and try to establish the sugar crushing units.
