Warangal: SR University among five pvt varsities in State

Warangal: Warangal-based SR University (SRU) is one among the first five private varsities declared by Telangana government through its Gazette on May 20. Spread across sprawling 150 acres abutting Warangal-Karimnagar National Highway, 15 kilometres from the city, the SRU aims at accelerating the pace of transformation and advancement of the regional ecosystem through academic excellence and industry relevance.

The Sri Rajeshwara Educational Society (SRES) was founded in 1976 by A Varada Reddy with a vision of extending value education to the rural students of the state. The SREC has 110 educational institutions across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh with more than 90,000 students and 10,000 teaching and non-teaching staff. These institutions include schools, Inter, engineering and degree and PG colleges offering various programmes.

All the B Tech are accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in Tier-I category, National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with 'A' Grade, and recognised as Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR).

The varsity has a Technology Business Incubator (SRiX) sponsored by NSTEDB, Department of Science & Technology, New Delhi and it is the largest Incubation Centre in a Tier – II city in India. Currently 43 Startup Companies are working at SriX in various sectors, prominent being Agriculture and Cleantech sectors and in IoT, AR/VR, AI/ML technologies. 41 Patents and more than 2,000 research articles were published by faculty and students

Chairman Varada Reddy says that SR Group institutions created human capital that, in turn, improved the quality of life of individuals as well as the society. "The SR Group alumni have made the institutions proud with their significant contributions in various national and international organisations," Reddy said. We have prestigious institutions like the School of Applied Science, School of Business, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, School of Computer Science & Informatics, School of Design & Creative Arts and School of Engineering, and they offer a diverse set of programmes in line with the core values of the university i.e., innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship with emphasis on interdisciplinary education, Reddy said.
